Dear Jackson,
I really am trying to keep up with writing to you. I just figure you’d prefer to play on a vacuumed floor and stay clean and eat from clean dishes than to read a letter to you some day a long time from now, so I do those things before I write, and when I’m done, I try to go to bed, because let’s be real; You wear me out. I love it though. Now that you’re getting bigger, you’re much more interactive with your playing! Right now, you love bouncing, being lifted in the air over and over again, peek-a-boo, and watching me dance! I hope when you’re older, you still appreciate how awesome my dancing is ;)
Once again, I’m way behind on putting pictures on the computer, but here are some that I finally put on!

These are from the first time that we gave you rice cereal. You weren’t a fan. It was over a month ago though. Since then, we’ve given you avocado and you love it! I can’t wait to get the pictures of that up!

You love naked time, I love taking pictures, we both knew this photo would show up at some point or another. And yes, I will definitely be showing this to your future girlfriends.

And here and some of your Easter pictures finally:

It’s super late, so I’m going to switch the laundry and then go to bed. My goal for this week is to get write at least two more times. Once with your avocado pictures, and another one with pictures of you and your dad!
I love you so very much little one!

Dear Jackson,
I’ve been putting off writing for a little while now because I always feel like tomorrow I’ll have something else that I want to add, but I’ll try to get better about that. You should wake up from your nap pretty soon, so this might be quick, but it’s something. Today was your (late) 4 month well baby appointment! You’re actually closer to 5 months, but oh well. You weighed in at a whopping 16 pounds 6 ounces! You measured 26.5 inches long! YOU’RE GETTING SO BIG! You’re starting to develop a little bit of stranger anxiety now. You did okay with the doctor for about a minute before you started crying. You did the same thing with the lady who gave you your shot. We’ll work through it though. You still enjoy smiling at other people as long as they’re not right up in your face. We need to schedule another appointment pretty soon to get the rest of your shots. The clinic was out of one that you needed so we have to come back when they have it. We’re also supposed to be getting a call from another doctor in the next week or so. You’ve got what I think they called a mucous abscess under your tongue. It does seem to bother you, but it’s still something we should have looked at anyway.
I’m hoping that later tonight, I’ll get a chance to write a seperate post on Easter. I just need to upload some more of those pictures.
We tried giving you rice cereal a couple weeks ago. You were completely uninterested. I’ll post a picture of two of that experience later tonight as well. We’re going to try again tomorrow though! Except I think instead of cereal, we’ll try something like avacado or squash? I haven’t really decided yet.
You’re waking up now, so I’ll leave you with this video. This was a couple days ago. I can’t get enough of your laugh! I love you goob!

Dear Jackson,
You’ve been pretty fussy compared to your usual laid back self and I can’t seem to keep your hands out of your mouth. (It probably wouldn’t bother me if your hands weren’t getting chapped from it.) So this evening, I finally felt your gums, and as I suspected, I’m almost positive I felt a tooth coming in up top. You don’t really have any good teethers yet, so tomorrow your dad is going to get some on his way home. I really hope you get some relief soon!
This is you just hanging out today :)
I love you so much!

Dear Jackson,
Holy four months batman. You’re getting SO BIG! I can’t even believe it! I had your dad pick up some baby rice cereal at the store tonight. I’m still on the fence about whether or not that’s what I want to start you with or not, but at your 2 month appointment, the doctor told me that they start babies on rice cereal at 4 months, so I bought it just in case. This week I’ll be doing a lot of research on starting solids for you though. You’re starting to get really upset when I’m holding a spoon and I won’t let you have it. You also love taking my water bottles and trying to drink them with the lid on. I’m also researching infant sippie cups.
I took your 4 months pictures today! Here are some of my favorites! I love you so much goob!
[ these first couple are actually from yesterday, but I love them, so here they are :) ]

I’m in love with your little feet. It annoys your dad that I take so many pictures of them, but for real, look how cute they are.

I think you’re REALLY starting to look like your daddy. I love it!

I was so excited about taking these pictures! This was my first time using my new camera! I’m still getting used to it, but it’s hard to mess up too bad when I’m taking pictures of someone as adorable as yourself. I took pictures of you with your favorite toys, and your favorite book. I’m can’t wait to continue taking pictures with your favorite things. This way, we can look back at all of these pictures when you’re older, and remember all the things you used to love!
Quick story before I go to bed: This morning I was digging through your dresser looking for something for you to wear today. I came across a onesie that was 3-6 months, but I would’ve guessed it was for 12 months. It looked HUGE. I put it away and grabbed something else to put you in. Tonight, you spit up A LOT all over me and all over yourself (as soon as you were done you looked at it all over me and laughed pretty hard…thanks for that :P ). I went to go change my clothes and your dad changed yours. When I came out, you were wearing the giant onesie from this morning, and IT FIT. I was a tiny bit long, but it definitely fit.
Moral of the story: I think I’m in denial of just how big you’re getting.
I kid a lot about how big you are and how you need to stop growing, but the truth is, I’m so proud of you, J. You’re growing and developing and impressing me every single day. I love you so much, little bug.
Goodnight,

Dear Jackson,
I love you.
In four short days, you will be FOUR MONTHS OLD. I can’t believe how quickly you are growing up. You, my dear, are getting huge! I think that at the rate you’re at right now, you’ll probably have a beard by the time we visit our family in Colorado in July. You’ll also probably have a Pulitzer by then. I am astounded at how smart you are. You do new things all the time! Lately, you have been especially attentive to my mouth when I talk. I know you’re trying to figure out how to copy me so you can talk too!
I’m a little bit late to the game with writing to you, so I figure we should catch up a little bit. Here are some of my favorite pictures from these past few months with you.

This is the day after you were born. You and your dad have had a special bond since the very beginning.

This picture was taken the day after we took you home from the hospital. You were only 3 days old. I remember just looking at the two of you sleeping and thinking that I was the most lucky person in the world. I still think that every day.

December 16, 2011 - I took about a million pictures of you sleeping that day. You are so handsome!

Christmas Eve 2011 - Basically, you’re the cutest Santa that I have ever laid eyes on.

New Years Day 2012 - I took this picture to remind myself how huge you had gotten. Now when I look at it, I think about how small you used to be.

January 31 2012 - Usually, you HATE tummy time, but on this particular day, you had a blast!

February 3, 2012 - You have never been camera shy!
February 7, 2012 - You’re usually an extremely happy baby! We’ve been lucky enough to avoid major meltdowns for the most part. You would much rather just smile and laugh. If you want to stay this way forever, I wouldn’t mind ;)

February 11, 2012 - I absolutely love your eyes. Your nose. Your mouth. Everything about you.

February 13, 2012 - This was the day you fell in love with your bouncer. (For real, how are you so handsome?)

March 5, 2012 - I don’t make you wear pants that often when we are at home. This won’t last forever; I hope you’re enjoying this luxury while it lasts.

March 7, 2012 - This is you and Dragon. We gave you Dragon when you were just a couple weeks old. We call him your best friend because he is the only pacifier you will accept. High five for loyalty, J. It will get you far.

March 16, 2012 - You got a bumbo a couple of days ago. You love it! You LOVE sitting up, so a chair that helps you do that on your own is pretty much the bee’s knees. Some days, you wear yourself out kicking, and squealing, and wiggling all around!
I’ve can’t put in to words how much fun I’ve been having with you over the last four months, and I look forward to every single day that I am privileged to spend with you. You make the world brighter, little bug.
I love you, sweet baby.
Love, Mom
